A New Revolution

"We the People"
Have we forgotten our history ? How our founding fathers were tired of tyranny and oppression from European dictators and travel the ocean in search of a new land were freedom could be found ?We have filled our courts and municipal building across the nation with so many laws and restrictions on freedom, you need a lawyer to put a shed on "your" property. And the taxes on "your" property are so our of control I question whether we actually own it or just rent it from the government. Some recent events have me scratching my head asking "why"? For example:
  • The government thinks it can run health care.
  • The government is spending trillions of dollars we don't have.
  • We refuse to close our boarders

Healthcare
Lets look at healthcare for a minute. We live in an era where bridges are falling down in disrepair, the roads are filled with pot holes, the military looses millions of dollars that it cannot account for, and our educational systems is the most costly in the world but our children produces third rate test scores and cannot compete on internal levels with high rates of success. So my "why" question is "why" would anyone trust the government with more of their money to squander on health care. My other question is "why" do people from other nations travel to America when the need top rate medical attention ? Why don't they bother to fly to nations with socialized medicine? The answer is that we have the best healthcare professionals in the world. The government should not be dabbling in healthcare and making a mess of it like it has in every other example we have of government mismanagement.
Increasing Debt
I don't know about you, but I have never heard of any rational person saying "boy, I am so far in debt, I think I'll buy a car. That will fix all my economic problems". Yet this it exactly the type of irresponsible behavior exhibited in Washington. We are spending money with no checks and balances and without care for future generations. During the past year the company I work for has increased cost savings projects, implemented hiring freezes and salary freezes, innovated to streamline internal precesses to increase the efficiency of employees, and adapted to the changes in the market. Yet Washington has done the opposite, and has even increased the economic burden of the American taxpayers and our employers that create jobs. This is why we need "real" change in Washington, not rhetoric.
Boarders
I cannot understand "why" politicians do not support closing the boarders and protecting the sovereignty of our nation. I would like to understand why that is considered a bad thing. We need law and order, and cannot provide adequate protection of our homeland if we are prevented from keeping people from entering the country illegally. I thought 9/11 would be a wake-up call for our nation, but I fear we have fallen asleep and become complacent once again. My question is again "why"? I believe this tough issue is being avoided by politicians that to not have the fortitude to stand up for what is right and just for the nation, and they are putting their political careers ahead of national security. In my eyes this is the definition of "Treason"!
What Next ?
We need to work together to rid ourselves of career politicians and elect a new government. When I say we I mean all Americans, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and Tea Party members. This is our government. "Government For the People and By the People." And its time we take back America. We can all do our part. Volunteer for candidates that will bring back responsibility and integrity to Washington and that will support the moral foundation set forth by our founding fathers. I will be posting the names of candidates that I believe will live up to our high expectations. I look forward to your comments.

  2. Hey Vince! To quote John Adams:"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequat for the government of any other." (John Adams, 1789)

There can be no respect for the sanctity of human life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness when God is not the center of all things. Indeed, there can be no truly adequate appraisal of what makes for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness outside the true devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.

In short, when Jesus isn't the center of our lives, then we look to other things for our security, freedom, and joy. It could be the government, drugs, porn, sexual immorality in general, material goods, etc. The country is where it is, because they have lost their anchor.

You should sign the Manhattan Declaration. It speaks well (not perfectly) to what I am speaking about and I think to some of the issues you are having.

Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone maintains freedom and liberty for our country, but who will manifest his wrath upon us when we turn from him to the sinful desires of our hearts.

  4. I have a solution to the illegal immigration problem. We take our soldiers out of Iraq, and move them to the Rio Grande. The next wave of illegals coming across the boarder is declared an "invasion." We move the troops south and declare Mexico the 51st state. Several good things happen.

First, there is no illegal immigration from Mexico because now they are US citizens.

Second, their government which is an even worse disaster than our own will now have to be reformed and their poverty situation dealt with appropriately.

Third, the Democratic Party would be filled to overflowing with Pro-Life advocates that could vote out the Pro-death ignoramouses that now haunt the halls of Congress.

So there is my suggestion. If that doesn't appeal to others then the next idea I have is sell California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado to Mexico. We can pay off our debts and then the Mexicans can have the headache of what to do with the Hollywood nutcases.

Just some random thoughts as I start to do the laundry! ;)

  5. Come on Sam, me move to the land of "free" healthcare ? You know me better than that ! I bust on my brother-in-law who now lives in Germany about that "free" health care that he pays for out of every pay check, it's amazing how much "free" healthcare costs !

  6. Why do I keep reading about people here going overseas for healthcare? It's too expensive here so people have to go to Brazil, India, Central America to have major procedures done. The healthcare bill however you want to characterize it is NOT a takeover - just needed regulation. The Healthcare industry is just too big and powerful to allow it's takeover and replacement by a government entity.

  7. If you look at the number of people traveling to other countries, the U.S.A. is the number one destination. Miami Fl, now has travel service companies for people that want to travel to Miami for healthcare. Me personally, if I have a serious medical condition, I'm not traveling to Central America or South America. I'll be staying in the U.S.A. Check out were people in Brazil travel to when they are in need of care. You guessed it, the U.S. Don't believe the Michael Moore's of the world, read the actual statistics.

  8. Vince,
Now the Canadian $ is worth more than the US $. Canada's debt is less than 0.5% of GDP. Where else you caa find this with free health care. Even the europeans don't come close. Come over for a weekend and you will see what you are missing.

  9. Sam, you can go to this site and see how "free" the healthcare is in Canada. The government in Canada is taking on $105 million in debt a day.

    See http://www.taxpayer.com/ for additional information.

The U.S. already has tremendous debt that has increased $500 billion each year and this rate will increase considerably under Obama if America doesn't put a stop to the madness by electing more conservative, fiscally responsible congressmen. This rate of increasing debt is unsustainable. If you go to the following link you will see the exponential increase in U.S. debt.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt

P.S. you'll have to find out for me if I will have to pay my excise tax of ~ $1,000 (Canadian) and 10% penalty on my auto insurance before entering Canada ! Just have to love how politicians find different "revenue streams" that they refuse to name "tax".

This information was smuggled from Cuba to let the world know how that imbecile was duped into being a mouthpiece for socialized medicine. 12. I cannot tell whether anon is Rob or Sam so I am responding to the statements made by whoever is preaching Jesus. I believe it is Rob because I pretty much agree with Sam. While I totally agree that something must be done about the illegal immigration situation, who got us into this in the first place? Liberals? Not on any bet. The big business corporations and their cohorts the right wing politicians. This country was founded on the backs of slaves and the old white men still want slaves so they allow the illegal immigrants access to cross the border and work at less than minimum wage slaves. Shame on the right, shame on the left for the exploitation of people in need. Shame on you Rob for using the name of Jesus to justify your stand. Do you really think that Jesus would have condoned what you are doing? Last I knew there was separation of church and state in this country. If you want to name call people in California and exploit illegal immigrants then keep Jesus out of it because as I see it you could not possibly be preaching the Lord's word.

  13. Vince,

I have been sick for three days but when I saw this you really got me going. So thanks. First how appropriate that you post a picture of you and your family at Disney World, that right there was enough to start me. I made my comment on borders so next is education. We do not live in a homogeneous society, therefore we cannot educate as the rest of the world does. Furthermore, our education system does not allow educators to do what they have gone to school and learned to do. Why? Because, in my opinion, the powers that be want minimum wage slaves. That is what we are cranking out. If all of you cared we would be a powerful education system. But no, you have been brain-washed into believing that the "powerful teachers unions" have some authority. I am a union rep on my campus (for free) I have no more authority than the man in the moon. If I did and others did we could right the wrongs. The officers are wanna-be politicians, they do nothing. There are so few terrible teachers out there that it is pitiful on how much time and effort is wasted on them. Teachers are hard working and at a loss as what to do when their hands are tied. Give us the authority to run our classrooms as we, the teachers, see fit and you will see a dynamite education system. But no, now we must run ours schools like a business with outside interests dictating to us what we will do and lip service to the people that we have autonomy. We don't, We should. I need to stop before I write a book.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Healthcare. We need something. But wait, we compare our education system to the rest of the world but when it comes to health care we find fault with the rest of the world. Let's see, Vince, do you still work for a company related to health care? Can you truly say that prices for medicine, medical procedures, etc. are not inflated? Is it okay for people to be sick and dying without medical care in this "oh so glorious " country. How selfish of all of you who only think of only yourselves and especially you Mr. Jesus preaching man.

  15. Oops, I just proved you all right, I had some grammatical errors. What a lousy teacher.

  16. Dennie,

I didn't mention Jesus with regards to California or illegal immigrants. Read more carefully in the future please.

As for the issues of Jesus and the sanctity of human life, the sanctity of marriage, etc (which is what I referred to in the first posting) the answer is no, Jesus does not support my agenda or anyone elses. He supports His. His agenda insists upon the sanctity of human life, the sanctity of marriage (between one man and one woman lifetime or else absolute celebacy). So please be careful what you think you are reading and to whom you are attributing the agenda.

Now if you insist upon attacking me as Mr. Jesus preaching man then that is just fine. I will preach our Lord until He comes to judge us all in His righteousness or until I see him face to face when I die. I am not ashamed of this.

However, I don't remember making any statement about Jesus and healthcare. I haven't made any statement on that because frankly He is silent on the issue. He is not silent on the issues of abortion though (see Psalm 139 just for starters). This health care bill allows for it. Therefore it is hateful (at least that provision) to him. There are other provisions or actually possibilities in this health care bill that are hateful to our Lord as well, especially if and when we get to rationing and telling the mentally retarded, the quadroplegic (sic), the old woman or man who "becomes a problem" for society that they simply must die off so the rest of us can have better lives. You think this can't happen? It is already happening in England, and in the good old state of Oregon with its euthanasia law (it is actually called the "right to die" law, but it is the same thing to all extents and purposes). Dear woman, you cannot possibly believe (if you are a Christian) that the Lord will be "alright" with these proposals.

It doesn't matter if there are other good things in the bill. The bill itself is an abomination because it has these things in it and logical possibilities.

You may stand on the separation of church and state. That isn't in the Constitution of the United States, and in fact it makes absolutely no sense to believe that the God of all creation will not judge the state for its sins against His natural law and against His commandments.

Are there other sins for which the US is accountable. You bet. Greed, materialism, bitterness, unbelief, doubt, worldliness, lust, hatred, anger, idolatry, you name it. We are in deep trouble.

The country needs to get down on its knees in repentance. His wrath is kindled.

So there you go. Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge all nations according to His terms and not our own.

    Rob

  17. Dennie,

Now I would give you a brief lesson in Christian theology and why illegal immigration is a problem the American people are right to be concerned with and deal with through just laws.

First, it has always been understood (see Romans 13) that God has established secular rulers and government for the express purpose of bringing good order and security to people in a sinful world. Taxes are to be paid, etc. for the keeping of police, military, the building of roads, etc. Christians are expected to honor those in authority (even those who aren't Christian) and to pray for them. Christian are also expected to pay their taxes and they are expected to obey all laws that do not conflict with their first loyalty to Christ. Early Christians were killed, because Roman law demanded that Christians honor the Roman Emperor as a god. This cannot be obeyed for only Christ Jesus is Lord. So Christians did not obey this law. They were peaceful in this disobedience, but firm. They died by the thousands.

Christians are also forbidden to follow customs of the culture that were opposed to the Word of God (the Old and New Testaments). So Christians were noteworthy for being a people in that empire who along with the Jews did not abort their children, did not commit infanticide, did not commit sexual immorality or practice homosexual sex. They did not leave the poor to died or the hungry to have no food. So Christians are also called to counter cultural when the culture is turning away from God. Christians must stand firm.

Okay, so how does illegal immigration fit into this? Illegal immigration, from the standpoint of lawful government is a legitimate problem in two areas. First it is a problem economically. Since the government does have a responsibility to the poor and unemployed in its own land, it must make sure that opportunities are not given to non-citizens when jobs are needed by those who do reside in this country. It is pattenly unfair and unjust to give to illegal immigrants those jobs that should go to the poor in our own country. You might say the corporations have a hand in all this. No argument from me on that. The government needs to crack down on that too. However, point number one then is if one really cares about the poor and unemployed in this country the last thing a government should do is give those jobs or allow those jobs to go to non-citizens, let alone those who are breaking the law by coming without permission.

Second issue is this: security. The government has the right to protect its citizens from criminals (the drug cartels, etc.) and terrorists and foreign agents. The fact is the government has a right to know who is coming into the country and why. To come in illegally is to come in without the country knowing this and being able to check out if the person is friend or foe. Again, the government has this right and this is not against the Word of God.

You might argue profiling is a problem. Perhaps, but then again it only makes little sense to check out the Norwegians coming in when the terrorists we are fighting are coming from the Near East. So sometimes profiling makes sense. Again this is not a problem with regards the Word of God.

Now with regards to helping the poor, etc. There is certainly a good case to be made that the government has that responsibility according to the Word of God. In fact it does. However a welfare state is forbidden. Please take note that it is Saint Paul who says, "If a man will not work, let him not eat." So while it is true that there is need to care for the poor, widow, and orphan that does not mean creating a state that caters to laziness and "victimhood" (which is what the continued blather about "white privilege" etc. is really about).

More later when I come back from vacation.

Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ!
    Rob

  18. Dennie and Rob,

I will need to respond to your comment in multiple posts, since my answers are to long. Here it goes.

    1. Separation of Church and State

This myth was drilled into me by teachers during high school. I actually believed that the Constitution said this for a while until I "read" the Constitution and the writings of our forefathers. The actual amendment states that "Congress shall not declare a formal religion." What is left unsaid, and what is not taught in many of our schools, is that the founding fathers believed that a government that did not have a moral foundation based on our "creator" was doomed to lead to tyranny. After the formation of America, we can see several historical examples of this.
The first example is Hitler. He exterminated religion, as well as 6 million plus Jews. No moral foundation, no limits on what evil can be done, all in the name of the "common good". In the case of Nazi Germany, you better be a Nazi, or it was not to good.
Other examples can be seen with the rise of Communism. If you look at how the Chinese dealt with "extra children" that were born, it will make you sick. Things were not much better in Russia. Anyone interfering with the governments goals were eliminated. Again, take away religion, there is no limit in the evil a government can do by stating "it is for the common good".

The founding father were not for "gutting" religion from government, only protecting the rights of individuals to practice their religion. Again, the myth of "separation of church and state" is a lie.

  19. 2. Healthcare

Yes Dennie, I did work in the industry for ten years and contributed to improving health care for our customers. I will address this problem by discussing the two biggest issues:

The first is the burden that trial lawyers place on the healthcare industry. This drives costs high on multiple levels. A few to begin with are malpractice insurance costs that are out of control, but priced accordingly due to the high number of law suits a doctor will be involved with during his career. The insurance does not stop there however. Hospitals must be insured, medical device manufactures must be insured, and the pharmaceutical companies must be insured. Now think of the thousands of vendors each of these industries have and the insurance they must carry to assure a law suit does not drive them out of business. Now add the cost of maintaining legal representation in your company if it is large enough, because you will be a target for law suits. This part of the healthcare issue I blame on the Democratic party, as they are owned by the trail lawyers and block every attempt at reform. The company I used to work for maintained an account with $50 million in cash reserves to assure it could survive a law suit. This was money taken away from research and development that could have improved healthcare.

Second, the FDA puts an additional burden on the development process of medical goods and services in the United states. The additional testing, that is often not required, adds cost and time to the development process. While I am not for eliminating all regulation, it has become excessive and has added considerably to our healthcare costs.

My final comment on healthcare is that to often people forget what "big corporations" actually are. They are groups of human beings that come together for a common goal. For heath care professionals, we come together to improve the life of those that need our goods or services. At the company I worked for we had an unwritten policy that we enforced though out the company when making decisions. When making changes to the product we asked, "If this new product was going to be used to save my mothers life, would I be making this change?" This policy was our key to providing the best product available.
My point here is that "big corporations" are not comprised of cold hearted bean counters, they are people like you and me. They care about their customers, and genuinely want to improve the quality of life for their customers.

  20. 3. Illegal Immigration

I will answer this issue as a husband and a father.

A little background is needed here. On 9/11 we all learned how important securing the boarded is to our national security. Why then are we debating securing the boarder, lets just do it!
As a husband who did not know if his wife was alive for several hours that morning of 9/11, I have little tolerance for people wanting to debate this issue. It is cut and dry. We need to secure our boarders or history will repeat itself. Will LA be the next city attacked by terrorists ? How hard to you think it would be for a terrorist to get in though our southern boarder?
I am not against "legal immigration". Our country was built on the backs of immigrants like my great grandfather. It is "illegal immigration" that I cannot support. How can anyone support illegal acts perpetrated in our nation by people from other other nations? I want my son to live in a nation that is safe, where drugs are not brought over the boarder by the ton, where violence is not one of the leading causes of death among young men. These are the things that illegal immigration bring to our nation.
At the same time, jobs are taken from our legal citizens. When are we going to stand up for justice as a united people. When did it become acceptable to stand up for illegal acts in our nation?
So what do we do as a nation? We demand the resignation of any politician that stands in the way of immigration reform that will help secure our boarder. We should start with our president. And if these political hacks won't leave willingly, lets give them their pink slips in Novembers election!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Separation of Church and State don't agree

    Healthcare-Lawyer part agree-rest disagree-your company-one of the good guys

Illegal Immigration-agree with the drugs and taking jobs (though many people say Americans would not do those jobs (I do not agree with them)). Still it is a problem caused by big business (republicans) and perpetuated by liberals. I am not sure this President can fix it by himself. He is dealing with embedded corruption.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dennie,

It looks like today the president, the Dems, and Rep, might have moved forward and done something that we can finally be proud of, moved 1200 national guardsmen (and women) to the boarder. I hope this is just the beginning, that is surely not enough to secure the southern boarder, but at least it is a start. Estimates are that approximately 10,000 guardsmen are needed to secure the boarder, so we will have to wait and see if this is real action or lip service.
On a lighter note you may want to hear my story of super government efficiency. I recently locked in a refinance mortgage for my home due to the drop in interest rates. I needed to get a document from the NJ court house. I called with the Docket number, thinking I could get a copy emailed or delivered overnight via phone or internet ordering. To my surprise the only way to get this document was to, wait three to four weeks to get it delivered via mail, go in person, or to hire a law firm to send their carrier to pick up the document and send them to me (for a small fortune). Since I did not have 3-4 weeks to wait I decided to go myself. I arrived earlier than the office opened, I was the first customer, and it still took and "hour" to photocopy two documents, and they cost $5 per page! I guess Staples and Office Supply are just plain stupid for photocopying things for a few cents a piece! I didn't bother to ask them at the office why in this modern day of the internet, where you can study to become a brain surgeon on-line, you can not download these documents or order them and have them overnighted! I didn't ask because I already know the answer, the government is incapable of doing things efficiently.

  24. A historical perspective on the Separation of Church and State myth.

    1. Since we opened this topic up for discussion, and I have not convinced some of you that the progressives and ultra-left wing groups have distorted history, I have actual proof.
As I stated earlier this myth was twisted from a historical document. In fact it was actually two documents, the Constitution and a document that was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. As for the Constitution, read it, plain and simple it does not have any mention of "Separation of Church and State". It only states that "the government" shall not institute a formal religion. This was written to protect the rights of citizens to practice their religion, not to "protect the government from religion." If our founding fathers intended to remove all traces of religion from government, they would not have adopted the countries motto of "In God We Trust", used the term "endowed by their creator" in the Constitution, and been so steadfast to protect religion as outlined in the Bill of Rights.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 2. Getting back to the document written by Jefferson, a little background information is required. The letter he wrote, posted below, was a response written to the Danbury Baptist association. They had written Jefferson concerned that in the futures they would not be able to freely practice their religion. Jefferson wrote back to the Danbury Baptist to assure them that the government could not interfere with their rights to practice their religion. Let me state that again, he wrote back to them to assure them that "the government could not interfere with their rights to practice their religion." With that in mind please read his return letter below:

    ReplyDelete
  26. Letter to Danbury Baptists from Thomas Jefferson:

To messers Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.

    Gentlemen

The affectionate sentiments of esteem & approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful & zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, and in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more & more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man & his god, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.

    (signed) Thomas Jefferson
    Jan.1.1802.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You will note above that Jefferson spoke of a wall of separation between church and state. As you can see above (see #2) the context of this discussion was the protection of an individuals rights to practice their religion. It in no way infers that religion must be stripped from government.
    This letter also inherently serves as proof that the founding fathers did not intend to strip religion from government. This letter was written by Thomas Jefferson, who was at that time the Commander in Chief or President of the United States of America. Yet look at how he closes this document;

"I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem."

If Thomas Jefferson demanded the myth of "Separation of Church and State" as protection for both the church and the state, as many have purported, why would he include this closing in a document he wrote in his official capacity as president?

This document written by Jefferson is the only argument people have for supporting the "Separation of Church and State" myth. But when you read it in context, you immediately realize that Jefferson did not support the commonly understood, modern meaning of this term. This term is as much fiction as any Steven King novel.

  31. Now something on the more serious side. 1 Tim.6:6-19. Saint Paul instructs us about the nature of wealth and its purpose. On the one hand we who have wealth are expected to be generous and help the poor. On the other hand, this generosity is in no way a "utopian" vision which declares that somehow this giving will end poverty. Sin is real, and there is no economic system that will end poverty, because greed, worldliness, bad choices, etc. will always be a part of human life until the coming of our Lord.

Therefore we are to use wealth to provide for those in need so that they may see that WE do not cling tightly to it, for it does not give us happiness, but rather the Lord. Our eternal security, which we long for, is in Christ not in wealth. So wealth is a tool not an idol.

Secondly, by sharing generously we do so as a witness to the greater Mercy we all received from Christ who bestowed His riches on us that we poor sinners might be raised from the mud and made heirs of the kingdom. Giving generously reveals in a small way the mercy we have received.

This is something we do as individuals and as the church. We are to do it willingly, and not forced into it. For the giving of charity is about freely loving the Lord.

    Some thoughts anyway.

  32. So here is a serious question: Does it really matter who is running and who will win?

I ask as one who is more or less a cynic on political matters, since it seems that no matter which party "wins" we as a country lose. There is more interst in taking power and keeping it than governing for the sake of the American people.

So who are you voting for and why? Why does it matter?

    Just some thoughts.
